Envirolite Lightweight concrete

Envirolite Lightweight concrete products are environmentally friendly and easy to install utilising our new interlocking block technology. Our focus and drive is to manufacture products of the highest standard using only recycled polystyrene aggregate. We work closely with waste management services across South Africa to divert polystyrene waste from landfill to be used in the manufacture of energy efficient walling and flooring products. Our vision is to turn the tide on waste ending up in our oceans and landfills, any form of expanded polystyrene can be successfully used to manufacture lightweight concrete. We make use of items such as polystyrene cups or food trays and a wide range of polystyrene packaging, more than 70,000 tons of polystyrene is imported into South Africa every year of which most ends up in landfill. We can up-cycle this waste into energy efficient structures making Envirolite Concrete the most sustainable building solution currently on the market.

What We have

PRODUCT RANGE

ENVIROLITE BLOCK

Envirolite Blocks are used for a wide range of walling installations from load bearing walls to infill walling to concrete frames. Envirolite Concrete is the first to offer the South African construction industry a lightweight concrete block utilising the tongue & groove interlocking system to improve walling alignment and speed up block installation. The blocks are laid using conventional porcelain fix tile adhesive to reduce costs and improve mortar consistency. With outlets in both Johannesburg and Cape Town we are geared to offer onsite technical support and turn-key installa- tion options with our approved installation partners.

LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE

Our treated recycled polystyrene aggregate is specially formulated to be mixed onsite with water and cement for light-weight screeds and void filling. Used in a wide range of applications this is a cost effective solution to insulate floors and roof slabs. This product is supplied in 125 and 250 litre bags with easy to use instruction guidelines. One cube of lightweight screed would weigh around 600kg which is a quarter of conventional screed. We specify a minimum screed thickness of 50mm for opti- mum performance, a 100mm screed thickness @ 600kg/m3 density would offer an insulation value or r-value of around 0,8 and a fire rating of 2 hours.

- Verify drop-off or collection times.
03

CLEAN YOUR POLYSTYRENE

Make sure your polystyrene is clean and free of plastic film, loose parts or glued-on cardboard. Start collecting your polystyrene and happy recycling!
